Memorial Day Weekend

Yesterday we went to a Memorial Day party with some friends in our ward. Every year a guy in our ward makes a few different Dutch oven meals and invites the whole stake over to try them. My favorite was the Maryland chicken. It was fun to visit with some of the 4th year dental students for the last time before they all move away. We will miss them, but we are excited for them to start the next stage of their lives.

Happy Mother's Day!

I am so thankful for my mom. I feel so blessed to be the daughter of such a wonderful person. She is the greatest example to me. People use to call me little Rhonda when I was growing up and I never really thought we looked that much alike. But there is no one else I would rather be like than her. She is the BEST! I love you mom!

Girls Weekend

Last Wednesday my mom and two sisters Marci and Melissa came to Maryland for a girls trip! It was so much fun!

Thursday we went to D.C. and went to a few museums, took a tour of the capitol, ate dinner and shopped in Georgetown.

Friday was my favorite day. We went Hershey Pennsylvania and went to the Spa at the Hotel Hershey ! It was an amazing spa. We all got a massage! Before and after your massage you can wait in 3 different rooms. One room has fresh fruit, lots of chocolate, bottled water, hot chocolate, and muffins. My favorite room was the aroma room that smells like Crème Brule. We sat in all the rooms for a while and then went in the hot tub. Then we ate lunch at the spa in the Oasis room, the food was awesome. It was a blast, we were all in heaven! Then we went to Chocolate World and bought lots of candy and chocolate. My brother Sean is on a mission in Pennsylvania and his apartment was only 15 minutes away from where we were so we decided to go decorate his door and write a note that we were there and to wish him a happy birthday. When we got to his apartment we parked right in front of his door. My mom was nervous that he was going to catch us so she made us move the car in case he came walking out. 30 seconds after we moved the car there he was! We were all laughing so hard and screaming that he was right there. It was so fun to see him! We all wanted to jump out
and give him a big hug! Of course we had to stick to the mission rules so
we didn't get out of the car until he was gone.
That night we shopped at the Towson Town center.
Saturday I went to school and my mom and sisters went to D.C. again and then met me at the Inner Harbor and ate at Phillips seafood restaurant. Sunday we went to church and then they all few home. It was such a great week and I hope we can do it again next year! Thanks mom for a great girls weekend!

A good laugh

Last Friday I left work and saw a bum sleeping on a bench in downtown Baltimore. He was wearing a big winter coat and these bright orange shoes. As I walked closer to him I started thinking he is probably so hot it that huge coat! I was about 2 feet away from him and realized his pants were torn really bad… by the time I was about 1 foot away I could see his pants were torn from his knee all the way to the zipper FULLY exposing himself! What an eye full… I saw everything!!!! I was traumatized from what I saw but I was laughing so hard inside. I had to take a picture, but I took it from the other side so you can’t see anything.

Saturday night we went to a BBQ with a few other couples.

Sunday night we went to the Parkinson’s
and ate ice cream and pie to celebrate Jared’s birthday.

Conference weekend

We are so lucky to have such an incredible prophet. I just love President Hinckley. I am amazed at how well he is still doing at his age. He is so great and I love listening to him. I have great memories of watching conference with my family and eating tons of good food. My favorite food at conference was my mom’s sticky buns, they are pull apart rolls with caramel and nuts, I love them. I also love having a girls night while the guys go to the Priesthood session. This year I got to go shopping with Kristen, Adrienne, Heather, and Leisel. And then we all went to Liz Shumway’s house and she had a bunch of girls and their kids at her house and we talked and ate treats until our husbands came home. It was a great weekend, and I feel so blessed that we have so many great leaders to give us guidance and direction.

Wicked!!!!!

Wicked was here in Baltimore and we heard that they do a lottery everyday and if you get picked in the lottery the tickets are only $25 a piece!!!!! So the day we heard we decided to go and we were the first in line to put our names in the lottery. We had 4 other friends that were with us trying to win as well. So we waited to hear the names of all the winners and we never got picked!! Our friends Chad and Emily both got picked, so they each bought 2 and they let us buy 2 so we could all go. After the lottery we had an hour and a half so all 4 of us jumped in a cab and went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. We took another cab back and watched Wicked on the 3rd row! It was so awesome! We can’t wait to see it again! We are so glad that Chad and Emily both got picked, and that they let us buy the tickets from them, they are the best!

paper boy.....

This is the paper boy in Baltimore. He hands out free paper every morning on the corner that we pass on the way to work. He is so loud and crazy and yells things like this…. They free…. Come and get um….. Holla at your boy! He calls all the girls sugar, and one day he started to hand me a paper and I said, no thanks, and he goes… are you sure my number is on page 3. He is really funny and when he talks he is so loud and smiles so big with all these teeth missing, it’s great.
